WEIGHT : We carry shipments weighing 34 kgs (75 lbs) or less under the following conditions:
|
 |
DIMENSIONS: Maximum volume of any shipment is 24 X 40 X 84 inches (60 X 100 X 210 cm).
 |
If two measurements exceed 40 inches (100 cm) - please verify cargo compartment capacity with Customer Service. |
|
a) Coach Shipment:
|
 |
A waybill can contain up to five (5) parcels for shipment from one single shipper to one single consignee. |
|
b) Pick-up and delivery:
|
 |
It is possible to combine pick-up and delivery for many waybills, as long as shipments fit in one pick-up truck. |
|
 |
IDENTIFICATION : Shipper's and consignee's names, addresses and telephone numbers must be clearly written on all packages. In addition, fragile, perishable labels or any other relevant information must clearly appear on all packages, when required.
|
 |
CONTENTS: The shipper must declare the contents and the value of all parcels, and must comply with all restrictions. Acadian Express Courier reserves the right to open and to inspect packages and to check merchandise. |

| PROHIBITED SHIPMENTS |
| |
|
 |
Animals (including insects and other living species – with the exception of tropical fish, at shipper's own risk). |
 |
Cash. |
 |
Items of great value, such as jewelry. |
 |
Any substance whose transport or possession is illegal. |
 |
Hazardous material requiring specific identification plate (including batteries containing liquid). |
 |
Any parcel that is not properly packaged. |
 |
Any Cash on Delivery (C.O.D.) shipment. |
 |
Firearms. |
 |
Corpses. |

| PRICING STRUCTURE |
| |
|
 |
The pricing structure for the various shipping rates is updated every year. Carriage charges for parcels with a volume greater than 12 pi3 / 3.24 m3 (oversize shipment) will be double the regular rate. |

a) Coach Shipment:
|
 |
The basic service pricing structure includes express charges from the origin point of sale to the destination point of sale. |
 |
The rate is determined according to the package weight and the travel distance. |
 |
All collect charge shipments are subject to a $3.00 surcharge. |
|
Pick-up and delivery:
|
 |
Pick-up and delivery charges must be added to the basic express charges. |
 |
A double rate surcharge will be applied to any package when two dimensions exceed 40 in/100 cm (oversize shipment) even if the volume is within the accepted restrictions of 12 pi3 / 3.24 m3. |
 |
If more than one pick-up truck is required for the same pick-up and/or delivery service, the billing will be done separately for each pick-up truck. If a special pick-up truck is needed, additional charges will apply - if this service is available. |

| INSURANCE |

|

Acadian Express Courier's liability is limited to a maximum declared value of $100.00 per shipment if no additional insurance is purchased. |
 |
Acadian Express Courier's liability is limited to a maximum of $1,000.00 in value. Any shipment whose value exceeds $1,000.00 will be shipped at owner's own risks. |
 |
If an electronic device is shipped in its original box and the shipper has purchased insurance coverage, breakage will be covered. However, insurance will not cover operating malfunctions, be they attributed to transportation or not. |

| NON INSURABLE PACKAGES, AT OWNER'S RISK |

|
 |
|
Perishable goods (with a limited lifespan) for example:

 |
Shipment of perishable goods containing ice or any other liquid must be packed in a designated sealed plastic bag (bags can be purchased at major points of sale). It is recommended to pack enough ice blocks to preserve products for at least 24 hours. |
 |
Special items or those whose value exceeds $1,000.00 (refer to prohibited shipments). |
 |
Electronic devices not in their original packing box. |
 |
Fragile parcels - glass, pottery, porcelain and any other breakable item. |
 |
Acadian Express Courier declines, rejects and does not accept any liability as a consequence of the delay, the date, the time of arrival of documents sent in a shipment. All such documents include estimates, tenders, contracts, orders of intent or agreements to sell or purchase, lawsuits, notices to appear or any other legal or commercial documents whose time of delivery could be of whatsoever importance. |

| UNCLAIMED OR REFUSED PACKAGES |
| |
|
 |
Packages will be stored at no charge for a ten (10) day period following notification of consignee. |
 |
An unclaimed package or a package that was refused during this ten (10) day period will be returned to the shipper who must pay the roundtrip express charges. If the shipper, once advised, does not recover the package, the carrier will keep the package for a 90-day period. After this period, the latter may dispose of the package, as he likes. |

| LIMITATION OF LIABILITY |
| |
|
 |
Acadian Express Courier does not make any commitment to transport or deliver a package within a given timeframe. The consignee will be advised as soon as possible of the parcel's arrival at the destination point of sale. |
 |
|
Acadian Express Courier cannot be held liable (including for the $100.00 value) in the following situations:
|
 |
Breakdowns, bad road conditions, hazards of nature, strikes, accidents or any other acts of God; |
 |
Shipper and/or consignee errors or omissions (such as false declarations, missing information, prohibited packages). |
|
 |
Acadian Express Courier cannot be held liable for any consequential loss due to the delay, loss or breakage of goods. |

| CLAIMS |
| |
|
 |
All claims must be filed with the carrier listed on the waybill within sixty (60) days of shipment. The claimant must include a receipt for the lost or damaged item as well as any information related to the lost or damaged package.
